There are many social networking sites and more developed every day, some primarily for Blog authors/writers and others for any and all interested
Quick Overview so my experiences with a few of the existing network systems
Open communities
Stumbleupon One of the better places to find active surfers and it can be a good source of traffic
Social bookmarking, it does not do much for driving traffic and the interface seems dated to me. I have quit using for much. If I was concerned about maintaining bookmarks across several computer system and access them remote it might make more sense.
Still one of the wider used blog search and ranking systems. It does not seem to drive much traffic at least for smaller or newer
Something like a smaller bother of Digg, not as widely used. I have not spent much time with it.
The Granddaddy of web site ranking sites. Used to be mostly for tech and related sites but the submissions with current social interest have been getting on to the front page lately. It probably won’t last long but if your site makes to the front page be ready for a deluge of traffic. Hosting services promote themselves as digg proof and tips abound about preparing your site for being dugg.
Blogger/writer Networks
One of the most active communities of blogs I have found.
