When You Have A Song Stuck In Your Head

frustratedI have this theory that hell is being stuck with only three CDs of incredibly bad music.  There’s probably more to hell, but the music is what really rubs the salt into your wounds.  Whenever I come across a song that really turns my stomach, I think, "That’s on the 3 CD Soundtrack to Hell).  But it can be incredibly stressful when you have one of these musical mutations stuck in your head for days on end.  I remember when I had "Achey Breaky Heart" stuck in my head for about a week. I’d rather get a root canal than have that happen to me again.

The song I currently have stuck in my head is the Pet Shop Boys’ "It’s A Sin."  I figure it’ll go away when the Pet Shop Boys CD I bought will finally arrive in the mail.  This isn’t as stressful as I happen to really like the song.  But what do you do when you have a song stuck in your head that you abhor?

Things Life Is Too Short For

less stress magicOne of the reasons we get stressed is that we fear death.  One of the reasons we fear death is that we would likely miss out on doing the things we never got to do before we died.  So, we spend what’s left of this life cramming in as much "quality time" as we possibly can, in a race against death.  Life is too short for that.  To help you prioritze your "life list", "bucket list", or just your average day, here are things you can not bother stressing out about, because life is too short.

Comfort In Conspiracy Theories

Take me to your StarbucksThere’s nothing like a good conspiracy theory, isn’t there?  Just give me a full cup of tea, a box of Cheez-Its and a television show on any random conspiracy theory, and I’m a happy camper.  It’s not that I feel superior to the "idiots" who believe in conspiracy theories.  It’s that I feel exactly the same way they do — except I happen not to believe in the conspiracy theory, which is a minor detail.  I get great comfort from this, even when stressed out (and I have certainly been stressed out this past couple of weeks).

Let me make this clear.  I’m not trying to make fun of anyone who believes in whatever conspiracy theory.  In fact, I’d like to thank you for helping me to not only relax, but get to tolerate my fellow human being.

Nourish Ourselves - Blog Review

 blog-review-screenshot-nourish

New Blog  Review- Nourish

Quick Summary - This is a new blog  called Nourish so where it is going is not easy to tell. This author is a good writer.  A little uneven, but the approach is good.  Design is a very plain blogspot theme, as such it is ok, I would like a little lighter color selection to lift the mood abit.

Blog Content -

A single quote from the blog gives one a good feel for the tone of it.  " I feel…better? I’m not sure what it is to feel better, so it is taking me a while to recognize it. "  It is, so far, a mostly personal journey, but written with an awareness of the reader. I look forward to seeing where it is a year from now. There are some interesting resources in the sidebar.

Blog Design  - One word, standard.  The sidebar has an interesting introduction to the blog and some related resources. I would lighten up the colors a little.

C. Technical Review

From a technical view point it is a very simple blog. One widget that is new to me and though it takes up quite a bit of space is Shelfari. It is worth a click and a quick browse. When the blog develops more content I would consider adding a category based menu.
