Making a Wishing Well

Wishing for a wishing well?

"Be water, my friend."           –Bruce Lee

There is something inherently magical about water.  Many mythologies credit water or water Deities as the source of all creation.  Perhaps it is the vital force of liquid motion that makes us think that all things can potentially happen if you give your wish to water and then leave an offering.

We are used to thinking that we have to work hard in order to make any of our wishes come true.  This is true to an extent, but finding a wishing well or a special body of water to help you grant wishes needn’t be a painful quest.  Don’t wait to find a special wishing well — make your own!

An Aromatherapy Shortcut

Aromatherapy - Cookie aromaThe smell of fresh baked cookies is aromatherapy at its best. That scent tends to conjure up wonderful memories, and at least implies that you will taste a sweet treat soon. I know that I consider it one of the most relaxing smells in the world.

Baking a batch of chocolate chip cookies is my emergency relaxation technique. If I can’t get a massage, or take the time to decompress, I can always put together a quick bit of cookie dough.

doctor-fish-smallBeware if your ticklish

In our never ending effort to bring you the latest and best in ways to relax. Here is one that you may find hard to believe.  But it sounds delightful in a perverse sort of way.

A newly emerged "fish spa" is becoming fashionable in many hot spring resorts, and has attracted even more customers, all curious about this peculiar treatment. Garra Rufa, a type of small tropical fish, also nicknamed nibble fish or doctor fish, are put in hot springs. As they can live and swim freely in at least 43-degree-hot waters, they are used for a natural treatment of skin diseases without pain.

Boozing Your Way to Health

Red Apple Martini

For those whose main form of relaxation is kickin with a cocktail after work

The Introduction of the Healthy Cocktail

In the search for ways to keep strawberries fresh longer, researchers from Thailand and the US discovered that treating the berries with alcohol led to an increase in antioxidant capacity and free radical scavenging activity within the fruit. While such a boost helped the berries resist decay, the same compounds would also be expected to make the strawberries healthier to eat.

This fits with the recent trend at some high end bars towards organic cocktails blended for your healthy body …..
