I’ve gotten a couple of Christmas newsletters from friends this year. One of the friends is someone I haven’t heard from in nearly a year. The Christmas newsletter is a great idea. Even though I’ve never written one before this year, I’ve always loved receiving them. It’s a great way to catch people up on what’s happening in your life and family.
Every year I think, next year I’ll write a Christmas newsletter and I always forget. This year I got a Christmas newsletter from a friend in the form of a simple email. Her Christmas newsletter was nothing fancy. It was just an extra long email summing up the year’s events. She put a picture of her family at the bottom.
The idea of doing something fancy is what’s always stood between me and the completion of a Christmas newsletter. I’ve decided that it doesn’t have to be fancy. I can do what she did. So immediately after reading her newsletter I got to work.
It only took me an hour. I wrote a page summing up our year. We used the timer on the camera and took a picture of ourselves. I sent the Christmas newsletter out to all of my friends and family.
Since sending it out, I’ve gotten email from people I haven’t heard from in years. It’s been a great way to get in touch with old friends. I’ll definitely do it again next year.
