We keep seeing all these articles saying "Exercise and Eat Right! You will live longer!" This is part of it however, if your body and mind are stressed it may help but as I said before Stress causes dis-ease in the body and mind. When you "hold" onto stress it has to have an outlet someplace and guess what? It usually manifests as a health issue. You may think "Well, that’s easy for her to say, she doesn’t know what my life is like!" . True, however we are in charge of our lives and choose how we live it. Even if you are laid back and just let it happen to you - that is a CHOICE…. Help yourself to de-stress even if it’s only for 5 mins a day… breathe, meditate, ground yourself, pray , just be quiet, sing, listen to music, hug someone, go fishing - there are many things you can do to de-stress and they nourish your body & spirit in a way that your body & mind need as much as it needs food & water to sustain life. Pay attention to your body - it lets you know when it needs something different than what you are currently doing. Love yourself first and take care of yourself first otherwise you are not going to be any good to anyone else. I find that noise really causes a lot of stress we don’t even realize. Most people have the TV on constantly or radio, computer, phone etc… We really need to take time without ANY noise just to give the complete self a break. Noise causes anger, frustration and many other issues if you think about it. It is not easy to get away from it either which you will find when you decide to do without it for a while. Quiet is a wonderful way to de-stress… try it and see! So, in addition to eating right and exercising add Quiet to your life and see how you feel about it.
