It's mostly just a "mental treat" to let off steam, but in the end all the negative thoughts just hurt yourself and does nothing to the other person. All the cases where someone ACTUALLY dies after you've wished for it, is pure coincidence or an act of karma. I don’t think you can wish someone dead. So far, every person who hurt me has ended up dead or diagnosed with a terminal illness shortly after. I haven't wished them dead, I was just hurt by their unfair treatment of me. I noticed the pattern after the third time this happened. Maybe it's a coincedence... Maybe there is something more to it. But..when I was young, there was "boy" that I went out with once. He told his friends that we had sex. We had indeed not. I wished him ill will. Shortly after that he was in an accident rendered unable to speak as a result from his head injury. I do think there's a lot to be said, from many philosophical viewpoints, about the power of positive thoughts. When I need help I "throw it out to the cosmos" in a positive way.
