This is one of my problem that I must deal with. I find myself not living in freedom of who I am. My motivation of trying to be someone else or get certain thing is measured by what other's have. And sometime, it bothers me to think that they know that they are better than me.

I realize that this emotion is unhealthy for me. I read someone comment, stating that they have to measure themselve to someone to better themselve. There should not be no level of comparison for any reasons. Everyone has different dreams, goals, and visions. So why not be who we are created to be by searching within our hearts for divine purpose.

While worrying about what other people thinks in terms of who I am and what I have, I asked myself: "If I'm being ME, who can be better than ME?" My answer is not a single person on this earth. It can't get no better than you being YOU. So thanks for your article. It's nice to know that I'm not alone fighting for self worth that be begins knowing who we are.

I still compare myself to others to have a measure of my progress but my aim is always to better myself. Your state of mind determines if you get stressed out or get motivated when you compare. So it's back to individual emotional strength :)

Cheers

This is a great article. I never thought that comparing myself to others could lead to stress or depression. Of course, I stopped comparing when I was very young (I'm 46 now) because I learned that everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses while I was in the military.
